Connect Assynt runs community bus routes and provides transport for a wide range of clubs and voluntary groups.
What is Community Transport? Safe accessible transport run by the community for the community, provided by charities and voluntary organisations. It is about freedom and fairness of opportunity, seeking to meet the needs of people who do not have access to a cars, taxis or buses, providing a lifeline in rural and urban areas.

Connect Assynt is a volunteer community service to get everyone out and about in Assynt and beyond. Since 2015 we have managed a 16 seater bus equipped with wheelchair access and a spare wheelchair available for community use.
There are five volunteer trustees - Roddie, Gwen, Alex, Jane and Morag, a new part-time administrator, Jane Adrian and some wonderful, enthusiastic volunteer drivers. Sadly, in 2018, our lottery funding ended so we cannot pay our drivers currently. If you love driving and want to help people who don’t have their own personal transport, please do get in touch. We also need more trustees to help us and other volunteers, eg for fundraising and so much more.
